This is one of many examples how sheproceeded herself, evoking the experience without definingit, by carefully letting it continue to have its effect till itmight become comprehensible by the mind.The confirmation came eight days after the fact: “Yes,that’s what it is: it is the descent of the consciousness of theoverman. I had the assurance later on.” On the 1st of January“it lasted, absolutely concrete, there, for two or threehours, and afterwards it spread out and went in search ofpeople who could receive it. And I knew that it was the consciousnessof the overman, that’s to say, the intermediarybetween man and the supramental being.” And ten dayslater she said: “Yes, it’s very consciously active. It’s as itwere a projection of power. And it has now become somethinghabitual ... In one of the old entretiens, I said when Iwas speaking there at the Playground: ‘There is no doubtthat the overman will in the first place be a being of power,so that he may be able to defend himself.’ It’s that. It’s thatexperience. It came back as an experience.
