MS 1250. Rockhurst University Chorus I (1)Fall and Spring semesterOpen to all Rockhurst students, the UniversityChorus sings a wide variety of vocal music, rangingfrom show tunes to sacred music. Emphasis isplaced on the development of singing skills and acommitment to quality performance. The groupperforms at many campus functions and for variousorganizations off campus. (ARI – To satisfythe core this course must be taken in combinationwith other AR, MS, or TA courses to equal at least 3hours.)MS 1270. Chamber Singers I (1)Fall and Spring semesterThe Rockhurst Chamber Singers is an elite choralperforming group, specializing in the performanceof music from the Middle Ages to the20th century, as well as popular music and vocaljazz. Enrollment is limited by audition only, andparticipation in the Rockhurst University Chorusis required. (ARI – To satisfy the core this coursemust be taken in combination with other AR, MS,or TA courses to equal at least 3 hours.)MS 1290. Women’s Chorale (1)The Women’s Chorale studies and performs musicwritten and arranged for women’s voices from theMiddle Ages to the 20th century. Enrollment islimited by audition only, and participation in theRockhurst University Chorus is required. Applied Music I (1)Basic instrumental technique for a prescribedinstrument, such as harp. Available for beginningthrough advanced students. By special arrangementonly. Applied music fee. Applied Voice I (1)Fall and Spring semesterBasic techniques for vocal performance, with moreadvanced study of vocal literature and techniqueas the student progresses. Available for beginningthrough advanced students. Participation in UniversityChorus or Chamber Singers is highly recommended.Applied music fee. (ARI – To satisfythe core this course must be taken in combinationwith other AR, MS, or TA courses to equal at least3 hours.)MS 1710. Applied Piano I (1)Fall and Spring semesterBasic piano technique, reading skills and introductionto piano repertoire. Minimum practicerequirement: one hour daily. Applied Guitar I (1)Fall and Spring semesterBasic guitar technique, reading skills and introductionto guitar literature.
