• The Laurence R. O’Donnell MemorialScholarship, honoring Laurence R. O’Donnell,a charter member of the Rockhurst Regents anda dedicated friend of education and the Jesuits.Open to full-time undergraduate students.• The Vincent O’Flaherty Scholarship, establishedin 2003 by Michael O’Flaherty, classof 1959 and Rockhurst University Trustee, tohonor his father.• The Josephine A. Oldani Memorial Scholarship—establishedin memory of the mother of aJesuit member of the Rockhurst faculty to providetuition assistance to undergraduate studentswho demonstrate financial need.• The Walter Ong, S.J. Scholarship, establishedin 2003 to honor Father Ong’s contributionsas one of the founding members of theAlpha Delta Gamma Zeta Chapter FountainCity and in recognition of his later accomplishmentsas renowned teacher, scholar and author.The scholarship will assist deserving students atRockhurst University. Preference given to membersof the fraternity, as well as sons and daughtersof ADG alumni.• The James R. Owens, Jr. InternationalScholarship, established in 2001 by Mr. Owens,class of 1972, to encourage enrollment of internationalstudents from Ukraine.• The Sebastian Patti Scholarship, founded byMrs. Sebastian Patti in memory of her husband,for students preparing for careers in engineering.• The Permanent Memorial Fund, a continuingsource of support for the University that maybe used in the area of most need. This permanentmemorial provides lasting and appropriatehonor for deceased persons through friends ofRockhurst.• The Physical Therapy Scholarship—initiatedby a gift from the first graduating class inphysical therapy and continues to be primarilysupported by graduates and their families. Assistanceis awarded to the most financially needyyear two and/or year three students in the PhysicalTherapy Education Program.• The Edward T. Powers Scholarship, foundedby Miss Marie F. Powers in memory of herparents, Amanda and Edward Powers. Open tofull-time undergraduate students.• The Dr. James F. Ragan Scholarship wasestablished by his family in 2011 to honor hismemory. The Ragan Scholarship is to providetuition assistance to deserving students pursuingan undergraduate degree in English at RockhurstUniversity. Dr. Ragan, Class of 1949, was a professorin Rockhurst’s English Department from1956-1966. Recipients will be juniors or seniorsmajoring in English.392• The Olivia Raya Scholarship was establishedin 2006 by Mr. and Mrs. Louis Raya in honor oftheir daughter Olivia, whose life journey endedat the young age of 26. Through hard work anddetermination, Olivia accomplished her greatestgoal and received her undergraduate degreeat Rockhurst University. The scholarship willassist Latina women who are from Clay, Platte,Jackson, Wyandotte or Johnson county whohave significant financial need. Recipients will besophomores, juniors or seniors who are enrolledfull time. Renewal of the scholarship will not bepermitted.• The Regular Investors in Rockhurst Scholarship—establishedby members of the AlumniAssociation from a portion of their regularannual support and is restricted to the childrenof alumni.• The Mr. and Mrs. John A. Reid ScholarshipFund was established by Mr. and Mrs. GeorgeReid in honor of Mr. Reid’s parents. Open tofull-time undergraduate students.• The Reiter Family Scholarship, establishedin 2003 by Bob Reiter, class of 1964, and RockhurstUniversity Regent.• The Robert A. Ridgway Scholarship Fund,founded in memory of Robert A. Ridgway by hiswife. Open to full-time undergraduate students.• The Dr. Sam E. Roberts Fund, established inmemory of Dr. Sam E. Roberts by a bequest ofhis wife, Mary, a member of the Regents. Preferenceis given to juniors who demonstrate leadershipability.• The Rockhurst Circle Scholarship, establishedas a permanent fund in 1972 from projectsand gifts of the first (1927) women’s organizationof the University, comprised of the mothers,wives and friends of students. Open to full-timeundergraduate students.• The RubinBrown/James and Karen CastellanoScholarship, established in 2004 by JimCastellano, 1973 alumnus, and member of theBoard of Trustees. The scholarship will assistdeserving students at Rockhurst. Recipients willbe MBA students who are enrolled full time andpreparing for a career in accountancy.• The Rues Occupational Therapy Scholarship,provides tuition support to occupationaltherapy students through the generosity of Drs.Larry and Jane Rues. Preference is given to occupationaltherapy students, who are also parents,with a minimum 3.0 GPA.• The St. Francis de Sales Scholarship, establishedin 2006 by the Rev. Thomas B. Curran,O.S.F.S., 14th President of Rockhurst Universityand the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales, providestuition assistance to successful graduates fromCristo Rey and/or Nativity-San Miguel schools.
