PA 3800. Domestic Relations (3)Acquaints the student with the legal problemsinvolved in domestic relations pertaining to a separation,divorce, child custody, adoption, and nonsupport.Prerequisite or concurrent: PA 2000.PA 4000. Legal Research (3)An in-depth examination of the law library; surveyof traditional print reference materials as well aselectronic sources available in determining applicablelaw. The process of legal research and writingof memoranda and results of legal research are alsoexplored. Prerequisite: PA 2000.PA 4100. Advanced Legal Research (1)This course is designed to reinforce and buildupon the skills developed in PA 4000. Particularemphasis focuses on four main subject areas whichare characterized by rapid expansion in relevantlegal materials and integration of all forms of primaryauthority. Prerequisite: PA 4000.Physical Education (PE)(Exercise and Sport Science)The specific aims of the Physical Education area are to: 1) increase understanding of thevalue and role of physical activity as an important dimension of the human condition; 2)develop performance skills in certain physical activities; 3) encourage, through satisfyinglearning experiences, the participation habit.Offerings are available as electives for students interested in broadening their knowledgeof health, exercise, fitness and sports activities, especially those which provide lifelongenjoyment.Course DescriptionsPE 1130. Basic Skills in Minor Sports:Lifetime Sports (2)Designed to teach the value of those sports whichenhance lifelong physical fitness, this courseincludes racquetball, handball, tennis, swimming,walking, jogging, biking, hiking, horseshoes,weight lifting, etc. A combination of field and classactivities comprise this course.PE 2810. Theory of Football (2)A complete study of the theoretical aspects of thefundamentals of football. Students study defensiveand offensive tactics for each position, organizationof teams, scheduling and training.PE 2820. Theory of Basketball (2)Concerned with theory of basketball, includingmethods of teaching fundamentals, individual andteam offense and defense. It explores various stylesof play and methods of training and evaluatingcandidates.PE 2830. Theory of Volleyball and Softball (2)Concerned with the theory of volleyball and softball,including offense, defense, teaching fundamentalsand strategy.PE 2840. Theory of Track and Field (2)This course will describe and detail coachingtheory, methods and strategies relevant to trackand field. The intent of this course is to apply theskills, theories and methods needed to coach trackand field at all levels, including analysis for individualform and techniques as well as team effort.PE 2850. Theory of Golf and Tennis (2)Theory and practice with an analysis of strokes.Course includes the fundamentals and techniquesof playing as well as methods of coaching. Tournamentsare included in the course.PE 2860. Theory of Baseball (2)Concerned with the theory and practice of baseball,including teaching fundamentals of offense,defense, and pitching. Includes the techniques ofplay, methods of training and evaluating players,and methods of coaching.PE 2870. Theory of Soccer (2)This course covers the current theories and trendsin soccer. Special attention will be given to rules,fitness requirements, team organization, techniques,and strategy.
