Preference given to relatives of membersof the Jesuit community at Rockhurst University;to relatives of members of the Jesuit communityat Rockhurst High School; to relatives ofmembers of the Missouri Province Jesuits; and,finally, to relatives of any Jesuit. Recipients mustbe full-time students.• The Dr. Samuel L. Kennedy Scholarship,established in 2005 to honor “Doc K” whoserved as the Faculty Moderator of the SigmaAlpha Episilon Chapter from 1972 to 1987.“Doc K” touched the lives of countless SAE’s, aswell as other students. Recipients will be membersof Sigma Alpha Epsilon at Rockhurst whoare enrolled full time and have a 2.5 cumulativegrade point average.• The Kieffer Scholarship, founded by MissCatherine Shore in memory of Rev. Eugene C.Kieffer, S.J. Open to full-time undergraduatestudents.• The Harry B. Kies Memorial Scholarship,established by the family of Harry B. Kies andby Rockhurst faculty and students. Harry B. Kiesco-founded the Institute of Social Order andtaught history at Rockhurst for 42 years. Opento full-time undergraduate students.• The Kirwan-Hartigan Memorial Scholarship,established in memory of Francis and ClaraLouise Kirwan, to assist worthy students.• The Knipscher Chemistry Scholarship,founded to honor the memory of the Rev. JohnK. Knipscher, S.J., who founded the chemistrydepartment at Rockhurst. Open to all chemistrymajors.• The Julian J. Knopke Scholarship—establishedin 2000 by the Knopke family in honor ofJulian J. Knopke, a gifted and generous businessmanand loving father. The fund is dedicated toassisting students in financial need who want tochange their lives through desire and hard work.• The Robert F. Kuhnlein Scholarship,founded in memory of Robert F. Kuhnlein, analumnus and member of the Rockhurst Regents.Open to full-time undergraduate students.• The Dr. Thomas A. Kyner Memorial Fund,established in 1970 by bequest of Dr. Thomas A.Kyner, a member of Rockhurst Honorary Directors.Open to full-time undergraduate students.• The William F. and James B. LaughlinMemorial Scholarship, created in 1997 byEugene Laughlin to honor his brothers, Williamand James. The award assists deserving full-timejuniors or seniors in the Helzberg School ofManagement who demonstrate financial needand who meet the criteria for academic scholarships.390• The Max Leupold Memorial Scholarship,created by bequest of Max Leupold, a KansasCity banker, civic leader and Honorary Director.Max Leupold developed corporate support forRockhurst and our students over the course often years as a Senior Ambassador. Open to fulltimeundergraduate students.• The Robert L. Lueking Memorial Scholarship,established by Gus W. Lueking inmemory of his son, Robert L. Lueking, a formerRockhurst student, and his wife, Edna Lueking.Open to students who demonstrate financialneed, were born in and presently reside in Missouri,maintained a B average or above in highschool, and continue to maintain a B average orabove in collegiate studies. Preference is given tostudents pursuing study in business, accounting,or economics.• The William E. and Mary Margaret MangoldScholarship, created in 1996 to assistdeserving graduates of Bishop Miege HighSchool in Shawnee Mission, Kansas. Recipientsmust be enrolled full-time. Financial need is nota criterion for selection. Preference is given toincoming freshmen who plan to earn a degree inaccounting. Scholarship is renewable for studentswho continue to meet all criteria.• The Mason Family Scholarship honors PatrickW. Mason, 1921 alumnus and Rockhurstathletic coach, and members of the Mason familywho supported the University and its studentsover many years. Open to full-time undergraduatestudents.• The Henry J. Massman, Sr. Scholarshiphonors Henry J. Massman, Sr., whose dedicationto promoting Jesuit education galvanized supportfor the building of Conway Hall and Mason-Halpin Fieldhouse. Mr. Massman served aspresident of the Honorary Directors Associationfor 24 years. The scholarship provides tuitionassistance for needy students. Open to full-timeundergraduate students.• The Lucie Jane Desloge McAnany Scholarship,a permanent trust, established by one ofthe first women attending evening courses in the1930s, that assists deserving students in obtaininga Catholic college education. Open to allCatholic undergraduate students.• The George & Mary McCullough and Ray& Lillian Enright Scholarship was establishedin 2005 by Thomas A. McCullough to honor hisand his wife’s parents. The purpose of this scholarshipis to provide tuition assistance to studentswho might not otherwise be able to completetheir undergraduate degree at Rockhurst University.Tom McCullough, Class of 1964, was amember and Chair of the Board of Trustees, andserved on the alumni board and on numerouscommittees throughout the years.
