Freshman Pre-Admission Criteria for Pre-Admission into the graduateprogram• Minimum high school grade point average of 3.0• Three units of college preparatory mathematics courses• Three units of college preparatory science courses• Three units of English courses• Minimum 1090 composite on the SAT, or• Minimum 24 composite on the ACTRequirements for Maintaining Pre-Admission Status in the CSDProgram• Achieve a 3.2 grade point average each semester and maintain a 3.2 science andcumulative GPA through the end of the RU Junior year• Complete the Communication Sciences and Disorders application for admissionbefore September 1st of the Senior year• Meet once each semester with CSD Academic AdvisorRequirements for Admission as a CSD Graduate ScholarRockhurst undergraduate students with outstanding academic work may apply foradvance admission status through the Communication Sciences and Disorders ScholarsProgram.• Minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.4 at the end of the Junior year• Minimum major grade point average of 3.4 at the end of the Junior year• Complete the Communication Sciences and Disorders application for graduateadmission by May 1 of the Junior year• Met once each semester with CSD Academic AdvisorAdmission to the Graduate ProgramThe CSD Graduate Program accommodates multiple points of acceptance for interestedstudents. For the Rockhurst undergraduate CSD major, these include Freshman Pre-Admission, the CSD Scholars Program, and regular acceptance during the final year ofundergraduate coursework. Post-baccaulaureate students are promoted into the graduateprogram upon successful completion of the prerequisite coursework.Post-Baccalaureate Prep-TrackThe Post-Baccalaureate Prep-Track in Communication Sciences and Disorders providesan opportunity for those individuals, both recent graduates and non-traditional studentsdesiring to change careers, who hold undergraduate degrees in disciplines other thanCSD, to complete all required and related coursework necessary for admission to agraduate program, whether at Rockhurst or another instiution. (A graduate degree inCSD is the minimum academic preparation for eligibility for ASHA certification andstate licensure.)Prep-Track PrerequisitesApplicants for graduate study in Communication Sciences and Disorders must showevidence of having completed the following designated prerequisite courses in order tobe considered for admission:School of Graduate & Professional StudiesUndergraduate Programs179
