Therapy Scholars. Opportunities also exist for the transfer and post-baccalaureate student.Admission to the University and/or meeting the minimum stated requirements does notguarantee admission to the program.Exceptional students may be given a Freshman Pre-Admission Guarantee into theprofessional program. These positions are awarded on a competitive basis, based on acombination of ACT or SAT scores, high school grades and class rank. Students receivinga pre-admission guarantee must maintain specified academic standards during theirundergraduate studies and satisfactorily complete the formal application process in orderto matriculate into the physical therapy program.Rockhurst students with outstanding academic work who do not have a pre-admissionguarantee may apply for advanced admission status under the Physical TherapyScholars Program at the beginning of the spring semester of their junior year. Such studentsmust demonstrate a 3.4 grade point average in both their science and cumulativeuniversity course work to qualify for Scholars status. Additionally, they must satisfactorilycomplete all aspects of the application process, and must demonstrate the ability tocomplete their baccalaureate degree by the end of their senior (fourth) year. Meeting theminimum requirements for early application under the PT Scholars Program does notguarantee early admission into the program.Exceptional students who transfer to Rockhurst to complete an undergraduate degreemay be considered for a Transfer Pre-Admission Guarantee into the graduate programat the time of transfer. Such students must demonstrate a minimum of a 3.5 grade pointaverage on a 4.0 scale at the time of transfer, demonstrate behavior consistent with thephysical therapy profession, maintain a 3.4 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scaleeach semester, and demonstrate a 3.4 science AND 3.4 cumulative grade point average atthe end of the Fall semester prior to beginning the physical therapy program.All current Rockhurst University students may apply to the physical therapy programin the summer prior to their senior year. Students with a pre-admit guarantee shouldsubmit all materials prior to September 1. Applicants are expected to complete theirdegree requirements and physical therapy prerequisites prior to beginning the physicaltherapy program.Post-baccalaureate students and those completing undergraduate degrees from anaccredited college or university are considered for entry into the program on a competitivebasis. Applications may be submitted beginning in the summer prior to the anticipatedstarting date.Enrollment is limited and early application is encouraged. Meeting minimumrequirements does not guarantee admission to the professional program.
