It is in fact highly probable thatmany variations in OT insignia are being worn by OT members indifferent sectors*For instance, the question of "shoulder straps". The latestdirectives on the wearing of OT insignia make no mention of them;however, OT members taken prisoner were found wearing them*The replacing of tha "Swastika Brassard" by a WehrmachtHoheitsabzeichen, is another point that has remained unclarified.This change in insignia has been referred to in directives and inentries in the OT-Dienstbuch, but so far no photographic proof thatthis change has actually taken place has been received. The mostrecent regulations on this subject are orders to those in uniformto cover the Swastika armband with a grey cloth in the event of oontactwith the enemy; those in civilian clothes are to substitute ayellow armband with the lettering: Wehrmacht*A full description of OT insignia ^s issued by the Ausrttstungsstelle,OTZ, BJ&tfJtf, October 1943, has been reproduced in Chart No. 10*135• Personal EquipmentA record of clothing and equipment issued to an OT member uponhis induction, is entered in the Dienstbuch (Pay and Identity Book)in a column headed "Leihweise von der Org. Todt erhalten" (Beceivedon loan from the Org. Todt). Certain issues of the Dienstbuch however,have a slightly different wording, i.e. "Leihweise in Lager durchdie DAP erhalten". (Received in camp on loan from the DAP: DeutscherArbeits Front or German Labour Front).
