ff f^f(b) * OT-Eigenes Personal (OT Organic Personnel)138. General Principles of PayAs in most other German organisations regular members in theOT administration oan be classified as either Beamte (officials;or Angestellte (employees). Personnel in those categories arepaid according to two tariffs, Tarifordnug A and B (TOA andTQB - tariff code A and B). Tarifordnung A fttr Gefolgschaftsmitgliederim flffentlichen Dienst covers mainly the clericaloccupations. Tarifordnung B fftr G-efolgschaftsmitglieder imftffentlichen. Dienst takes in all those OT-organic personnel notcovered under Tariff A. These tariffs are identical with thoseof the German Civil Service, (For additional information onCivil Service pay, see MrRS/AEFREC/63/44).A number of special tariffs regulate wages for OT organicpersonnel employed in the medical, transport, and communicationservice* The most important of these is the Tarifordnung fftr dieim unmittelbaren Arbeitsverhaltnis zur 0 T stehenden Frontarbeiter(Tariff for Frontarbeiter directly employed by the OT). paymentsof such tariffs are made through the Amt Bau-OTZ.In general it can be said that there has been an increasingtendency to equalize "OT and Armed Forces pay. To a certain extentthis has been accomplished, but there are stil l many instances ofwide discrepancies since the pay of OT workers must necessarily bebased on hourly wages and tariffs. In this connection it isimportant to remember that pay according to accomplished work ratherthan fixed rates tends to provide an incentive for greater output.139» Pay ScalesAil OT-eigenes Personal receives Armed Forces pay (Wehrsold)corresponding to their equivalent rank in the OT. In additionthey are given hourly wages based on a standard pay scale whichprogresses according to rank in the OT.
