A Catholic cemetery in Dresden, Germany. In the<br />
middle of a meadow, a small grave. And at the foot of the<br />
grey and weathered gravestone, waving in the wind,<br />
a small American flag. The inscription chiselled into the<br />
old stone reveals who was laid to his final rest here<br />
in 1914: the Native American Edward Two-Two, a Sioux<br />
chief. How did a Sioux Indian end up in a place like<br />
Dresden so long ago ? And why was he buried there at<br />
his own request, so far from his native lands and contrary<br />
to all Indian traditions ? The film tries to find answers<br />
by tracing the extraordinary life story of the Indian chief<br />
Edward Two-Two at Pine Ridge Reservation in South<br />
Dakota.<br />

From the shadows of the majestic Pamir Mountains of<br />
Tajikistan comes a story of Azam, a shepherd and<br />
Buzkashi champion, who faces the pressures of mod-<br />
ernization in the sport and in his own personal life.<br />
Azam plays as an individual for honor and integrity, but<br />
his success is increasingly thwarted by organized<br />
alliances, or ‘mafias’, encouraged by his rival Khurshed,<br />
a member of Tajikistan’s nouveau riche. Khurshed be-<br />
lieves that team play is the future of the sport. Between<br />
challenges on the field and within his own family, Azam<br />
tries to find a place for himself in the new Tajikistan.<br />
