i Want MY
countrY Back
by astrid schult
In the year of the presidential elections, America is
fighting relentlessly with itself, with its driving
force being its infuriated citizens: supporters and
sympathizers of the Tea Party movement. The
dissatisfied, the disappointed and the unassured have
come together in countless groups. They’re making
a stand against Obama’s healthcare system and against
the strengthening of rights for black people and the
unemployed – achievements that are seen in Europe
as a basic requirement for any fair and socially
responsible society. Who are the people behind these
groups that are protesting so vehemently and
loudly ? What pushes a U.S.-citizen towards the
right of the Republican Party ?
i Was Born in DelHi
by Bishnu Dev Halder
Two sisters, Josna and Hasina run away from poverty,
marriage and the impending kitchen-centric life in their
conservative village, to the city, Delhi, for a new life.
After six years in the city, the sisters are hounded by
insecurity. Ironically, they find marriage to be their only
path to a secure life. They get desperate as they find
it difficult to get married. Their desperation calls for
desperate choices. The film follows the sisters for five
years and documents their changing priorities over
the period of time; the choices they make and the impact
of the same on their lives.
