Kirsten Hjørnholm Sørensen<br />

Kirsten is a policy and advocacy specialist and has since 2009 served<br />
as policy advisor at ActionAid Denmark. She has close to 15 years<br />
experience in policy research, policy formulation and lobby work<br />
and has worked extensively on issues of development, human rights<br />
and international law, conflict, food security and energy in the Middle East, Africa<br />
and Asia. Prior to ActionAid Denmark she held various positions in DanChurchAid<br />
in Denmark and Malawi for three years and then moved on to their European network<br />
office, Aprodev, in Brussels for another three years. After that Kirsten worked as<br />
Communications Officer for an international network fighting against caste discrimination,<br />
IDSN, until moving on to ActionAid Denmark. She holds a Master Degree<br />
in Political Science from Aarhus University in Denmark, and has studied Peace and<br />
Conflict Resolution at American University in Washington D.C. as well as Human<br />
Rights and International Law at Oxford University.<br />
Elton Mudyazvivi<br />

Elton Mudyazvivi is an agricultural and rural development specialist.<br />
Elton worked as agriculture portfolio manager, technical specialist,<br />
programme manager and advisor in agriculture for 14 years with a<br />
number of organisations. He worked in Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Agriculture as a landuse<br />
planning specialist, before joining CARE International. Under CARE, Elton managed<br />
agro-inputs and agribusiness entrepreneurship development projects. He joined<br />
SNV in 2005 and is credited for his pioneering contribution in practical applications<br />
of value chain approaches to rural development. Elton joined Technoserve Tanzania in<br />
September 2015 heading the agriculture portfolio.<br />

Abel Lyimo holds a BSc. in Economics and Library Science, from<br />
Concordia University, Montreal, Canada, and a diploma in Marketing<br />
from Purdue University, United States. As an economist and business<br />
advisor he has over 15 years’ experience in advising business associations and agribusinesses<br />
SME’s, including more than 10 years’ experience in managing agricultural pro-<br />
