Helena Posthumus<br />

Helena is an academic specialised in natural resource management<br />
and rural development. She has expertise in a range of subjects, such<br />
as agricultural economics, value chains, impact assessment, land and water management,<br />
and agriculture. Helena studied at Wageningen University where she obtained a<br />
PhD on an interdisciplinary subject on development economics and soil conservation.<br />
She worked at the University of Greenwich (NRI) from 2009 till June 2015 as a senior<br />
research fellow and was involved in the M&E and lesson learning of the C:AVA project.<br />
Helena joined the Royal Tropical Institute (KIT) in July 2013.<br />
Kolawole Adebayo<br />

Kolawole Adebayo has 25 years’ experience as an extension officer,<br />
rural development expert and lecturer in rural development focusing<br />
on uptake of innovations in smallholder farming, sustainable<br />
funding of agricultural development, rural livelihoods and environmental management.<br />
He is active in international and multi-disciplinary development initiatives<br />
with his academic work being one of the leaders in the cassava sector in Africa. Dr.<br />
Kolawole Adebayo is currently a Reader at the Federal University of Agriculture,<br />
Abeokuta, Nigeria, and manages the Cassava: Adding Value for Africa (C:AVA)<br />
Project at the Natural Resources Institute, University of Greenwich, Chatham,<br />
United Kingdom. He has published more than 50 academic papers in national and<br />
international journals as well as 4 books. Dr. Adebayo is a philanthropist and strong<br />
community worker.<br />

Marcela holds a Masters in Public Administration and a Masters<br />
in International Affairs from Syracuse University. Marcela is originally<br />
from Colombia but has worked in Southern Africa since 2009<br />
for different development organisations. As Policy & Advocacy Manager at Fairtrade<br />
Africa, Marcela leads policy analysis and advocacy on key Fairtrade issues, initiatives<br />
on climate change and coordinated with the Fairtrade system to ensure the voice of<br />
174
