Avoid concurrent serotonergic drug use if
possible. Remember that many SSRIs have long
half-lives, so simply discontinuing SSRI use does
not avoid a potential interaction. Monitor patients
for signs and symptoms of serotonin syndrome if
the interaction cannot be avoided.
