Cocoa is one of the “new” products from eastern<br />

Peru. Introduced into the Peruvian jungle during the<br />

nineteen nineties as an alternative to coca leaves,<br />

nobody could have imagined that the environmental<br />

conditions in the zone would produce some of the<br />

most exquisite chocolate in the world. Peruvian<br />

chocolate has won awards from Le Salon du<br />

Chocolate in Paris, among other institutions.<br />

El cacao es una de las “nuevas” joyas que alberga el oriente<br />

nacional. Introducido durante los años noventa en la selva<br />

peruana como cultivo alternativo a la hoja de coca, nadie<br />

pudo imaginarse que las condiciones ambientales de la<br />

zona generarían uno de los más exquisitos chocolates en<br />

el mundo. El chocolate peruano ha sido reconocido por el<br />

Salón del Chocolate de París, entre otras instituciones.<br />
