5.2 STAGE 1 AREAS OF CONTROL<br />

ROLLING STOCK <strong>PPP</strong> – DOUBLE DECK TRAINS<br />

MAINTENANCE FACILITY SPECIFICATION - ATTACHMENT 7<br />

ATTACHMENT 7 - SIGNAL FUNCTIONAL SPEC V7.DOC<br />

<strong>RailCorp</strong> will control:<br />

• All train movements entering / leaving the Auburn end of the Down Relief line into<br />

the <strong>PPP</strong> Maintenance Facility sidings, Manildra and MainTrain.<br />

• In particular <strong>RailCorp</strong> will control all train movements into the following <strong>PPP</strong> Co.<br />

Roads from the Auburn end of the Down Relief:<br />

� Bypass Road 1<br />

� Arrival Road 1<br />

� Arrival Road 2<br />

Note: <strong>PPP</strong> Co. Will be required to keep at least one of these roads clear at all times<br />

to allow <strong>RailCorp</strong> to move trains off their Main Lines and into the <strong>PPP</strong> Co. Facility as<br />

soon as the trains arrive at Auburn. This is to ensure trains waiting to enter the <strong>PPP</strong><br />

Co. Yard and associated areas do not block the <strong>RailCorp</strong> Main Lines<br />

• All train movements to and from the Down Relief via 705 crossover at Granville (only<br />

possible when Access Control Area 3 is under <strong>RailCorp</strong> control).<br />

• All train movements between the network and the Down Relief via Clyburn Junction<br />

(only possible when Access Control Area 1 is under <strong>RailCorp</strong> control).<br />

• All train movements to and from the Down Relief (Access Control Area 2 area) via<br />

49 points at Auburn (only possible when Access Control Area 2 is under <strong>RailCorp</strong><br />

control).<br />

<strong>PPP</strong> Co. Yard Control will control:<br />

• All mechanical yard points associated within the <strong>PPP</strong> Maintenance Facility<br />

• Signals and Points on:<br />

� Departure Roads 1 to 4 up to <strong>RailCorp</strong> signal 21U.<br />

� The By Pass 1 Road (from the eastern connection to the MainTrain siding<br />

through to Access Control Area 3)<br />

� Train Washplant road<br />

� Wheel Profile Road<br />

� Car Turning Loop Road<br />

� All western turnouts to the Standing Roads West, including those on the Down<br />

Relief.<br />

� Turnouts to the Access Road 1 from the Down Relief.<br />

� The release of the MainTrain Siding to <strong>PPP</strong> Co By Pass Road 1 crossover<br />

• Train movements on the Commissioning Track (Down Relief). Note that movements<br />

from one end to the other of the Commissioning Track through Access Control Area<br />

1 will require Access Control Area 1 to be under <strong>PPP</strong> control.<br />

5.3 STAGE 2 AREAS OF CONTROL<br />

There is no change to the areas of control, which remain as shown above for Stage 1.<br />
