A SPEEDBOAT ZIPS ACROSS THE TURQUOISE WATERS OF THE ANDAMAN,
SKIMMING THE WAVES ON ITS WAY TO KOH LIPE. THE 3-KILOMETRE-
LONG ISLAND IS A TROPICAL PARADISE THAT’S RICH IN NATURAL BEAUTY.
Known for its white, sandy beaches and colourful
coral reefs, Lipe is part of a group of 51 islands that
form the Tarutao Marine National Park in Satun’s
Muang district. Pattaya Beach is the most vibrant
lined with hotels and restaurants. The island’s main
drag is teeming with tourists at night.
Conveniently located on the popular beach is
AKIRA Lipe Beach Resort, just within walking distance
of the main pier. The hotel stands out thanks to a
scattering of beach chairs for the hotel’s guests to sit
on while sipping on a drink or watching the blue sea.
Right next to the beach is the hotel’s large swimming
pool surrounded by loungers occupied by the hotel’s

Before sunset, the beach is filled with tourists

over the sea, head to Sunset Beach (in the west of
the island) that is known for its curved white,
sandy beach and the most beautiful sunset spot
on the island.
Early risers are rewarded with the pastel pinkish
glow of the sunrise at Sunrise Beach (in the east of
Lipe). The smooth, white sands extend all the way
to either end of this coconut palm-fringed, 100-metrelong
curved beach. Every new day here is delightful
and relaxed thanks to the island’s natural beauty that
inspires wonderful feelings.
After a generous breakfast, tourists can opt to join
thrilling marine activities. Popular dive tours take visitors
to notable islands including Koh Hin Ngam, Adang, Rawi,
Jabang Tides, Hin Son, Dong and Rokloy.
AKIRA Lipe Beach Resort offers a range of diving
tours led by a captain of a dive boat who takes tourists to
explore the natural beauty of outlying islands. Every dive
spot is well administered with bouys for safe anchoring
and safety ropes for safe snorkelling. A lunch break
takes place on Koh Rawi’s White Sand Beach. At each

vests and snorkelling masks to see colourful coral reefs,
mushroom corals and marine life such as clownfish,

and chauffeured van companies that offer rides to the
Pak Bara Pier, which take between 1.5-2 hours. From the
pier, Lipe is only 1 hour and 30 minutes away by speedboat.
