LEARNING
What will Earth be like in 100 years?
Copy and complete the below chart in
your workbook.
Many ancient cultures thought that Earth was at
the centre of the universe. They believed that the
Sun and the other planets revolved around Earth,
and they thought they had proof – these bodies
seemed to move around the sky during the day
and the night.
We now know that Earth revolves around
the Sun, the largest body in our solar system,
with the largest gravitational pull. For the
same reason, our Moon revolves around Earth.
We also understand that the tilt of Earth causes
the seasons, and that the rotation of Earth
causes day and night.
