“Accha I have to go meet Neha. Main abhi chalta hoon.
You keep up the good work.” Said Haddi and started
walking towards the hostel gate. He and Neha had
planned to meet there. Haddi put his hand in the jeans
pocket and checked to see if the piece of paper he had
been working on so diligently for the last few days was
still there or not. After confirming its presence, he took
his hand out of the pocket, unwrapped a chewing gum
and instantly put it in his mouth. The way to the library
seemed obnoxiously long to him today. He just wanted
to get to the library and see his girl. After a few mins
(which felt like eons) Haddi finally reached the library.
After quick I-Card verification he was making his way up
to the third floor of the library. After reaching up to the
third floor he realized that the library was more crowded
than everyday. Extremely crowded considering it was
the summer semester. Then he realized it was a school
tour day or something. Kids from all over Kanpur had
been brought over to see IIT Kanpur so that they can
get motivated, study hard and get into IIT. Haddi looked
here and there, turning his neck at frantic pace when he
finally found his girl sitting in the middle of all the hulla
gulla staring at him with her gorgeous eyes and a
perfect smile. Haddi felt a very positive energy flow
inside him and he returned the smile. He checked the
paper in his jeans and felt it
“Still there” he thought. Haddi grabbed a newscientist
magazine and sat besides her
“Hi. Kaisi ho?”
“I am great. Library is too crowded right? Kyaa ho raha
hai?”
“Are it’s some school day. Schools from all over kanpur
have come here for a tour”
“Ohh ok…. What is there in your pocket? Why are you
checking your pocket again and again?”
