unprecedented in the long history of the Interiit sports<br />
meet. But above it all we have seen one person break<br />
the n<strong>at</strong>ional record for men’s 100m, 200m, 400m and<br />
long jump.We also saw this person contribute his heart<br />
and soul to ensure his teams victory in volleyball. If<br />
someone asked me wh<strong>at</strong> Interiit sports meet is all<br />
about, I would have said it’s about interaction, making<br />
new friends, healthy competition and a spirit of<br />
sportsmanship, but not this time. InterIIT sports meet-<br />
2003 was all about one person, Rohit Parnerkar!!<br />
Looking <strong>at</strong> his record breaking performance in this<br />
InterIIT, all the directors of IIT met yesterday and<br />
decided to start a new award, ‘the presidents gold medal<br />
for excellence in sports’. Quiet apparently the first<br />
recipient of this award is none other than Rohit<br />
Parnerkar!!!”<br />
