other gizmos, the bathrooms provided for a good
visit. But gizmos was not what Chashmish was
interested in. He just wanted to put his slippers under a
tap and wash off all the mud which he successfully did in
the shower. He hurried out and saw that the rest of the
group was already on the second floor. Chashmish
hurried to his room, picked up more cigarettes and
started running towards the roof.
“Are Haddi jaldi chalo be, daaru ki bahut zaroorat hai”
said vodka as he passed Haddi and Untees on the stairs.
He had started climbing 3 steps at a time.
“Zaroorat to mujhe bhi hai be……khoon main alcohol ki
bahut deficiency ho gayi hai”
cheeked Haddi which was followed by a boisterious
laugh from vodka and Untees.
As all of them finished climbing the stairs they were
greeted by a gust of wind coming from the faculty
building. The rooftop provided an almost unobstructed
view of the academic area and the Nankari village.
Nankari village housed the support staff of IIT Kanpur
and was located half a mile behind hall-2. All of them
settled down, opened the bottles and with an instant
“cheers” started drinking. Kaka held his bottle of pepsi
and looked around here and there. The rooftop was an
extremely populated place today. Atleast three differant
groups were sitting there drinking all types of alcohol.
Kaka was pretty sure that almost all of them had their
name on the Doom board. He wondered if the professors
got a commission from the Beer shop for every fakka
they gave as they were the ones who gained a
tremendous business for every fakka that was granted.
Kaka suddenly got an urge to toast. He help up his pepsi
bottle high in the air and said
“To the tragedy of today” said kaka.
Six more bottles went up in the air and people started
coming up with one liners.
