Then suddenly he thought he saw the guy’s hand move.
Chashmish wiped off the tears, put back his glasses and
looked intently towards the body as if asking it to move
again. It didn’t. Chashmish was about to reject it as an
aberration when the hand moved again. Chashmish was
elated. He gave a sigh of relief and shouted
“Bach gaya hai be saala!! Jaldi neeche chalo!!”
The guy was rushed to the IITK health center as soon as
possible. He was surrounded by the seven of them when
he was being put on the stretcher and taken inside. His
breathing was shallow and he seemed delirious. Kaka
and Chashmish were saying
“It’s gonna be ok! It’s gonna be alright” to the guy as
the attendants made arrangements inside the health
center. This is when the guy said with a bated breath
“All of you! Promise me something! You guys will attend
each and every class in this semester”
“Saala pagla gaya hai” Vodka whispered to Untees as
soon as he heard the guy say those words. It was a very
odd time to be asking something like this. All of them
initially ignored it but then when the guy started
repeating those lines in a shallow breath, the attendant
supervising the guy said in a concerned voice
“Aap log ek promise bhi nahi kar sakte kya?”
The seven of then looked at each other and then said
“We promise” in unison.
“Thanks” the guy said as he was rushed in the innerds of
the health center for surgery. A group of 15 odd people
waited for him outside. Apart from the seven of them
the group consisted of some seniors, a faculty member
and a SIS guard. Chashmish was still a little shook up
