closed. He just didn’t seem to wanna look the world in<br />
the eye anymore. The entire group was rushing towards<br />
him to prevent him from doing the unthinkable.<br />
Chashmish was leading them all. His heart be<strong>at</strong>ed really<br />
fast and he had his hand outstretched.<br />
“Dhak Dhak”<br />
Chashmish was now 40 feet from the guy<br />
“Dhak Dhak”<br />
30 feet<br />
“Dhak Dhak”<br />
20 feet. This is when it happened. The guy disappeared.<br />
Chashmish had failed. The guy had jumped!!<br />
Everyone’s heart stopped. They stopped dead in their<br />
tracks. They couldn’t think. It had hardly been 2 seconds<br />
and the horrific scene had already traum<strong>at</strong>ized them.<br />
Standing in front of them all was Chashmish who still<br />
had his hand outstretched.<br />
“Is this really happening? How did I miss him??”<br />
Chashmish could feel a guilt building up inside him and<br />
he knew it was going to be extremely difficult living his<br />
life with th<strong>at</strong>. Chashmish was 10 feet away from the<br />
ledge but he couldn’t make himself walk and look <strong>at</strong> the<br />
scene beyond roof’s edge. He could feel his eyes getting<br />
wet. He removed his glasses and wiped the tears off his<br />
eyes when he heard some commotion down below.<br />
Chashmish g<strong>at</strong>hered some courage and went to the<br />
edge of the roof. Three stories below he saw a body<br />
covered with mud lying motionless on the ground.<br />
Tears were flowing uncontrollably through Chashmish’s<br />
eyes.<br />
“How did I fail? Why wasn’t I faster!!?”
