“Rohit Parnerkar!! Phone hai aapka!! Hold pe rakha hai.<br />
Jaldi aayiye!!”<br />
“Iski aawaz to ekdum daul<strong>at</strong>raam-ji jaisi hai” mused<br />
Haddi.<br />
This is when he was woken up by daul<strong>at</strong>raam-ji who was<br />
now standing next to his cot ensuring th<strong>at</strong> he had woken<br />
up.<br />
“Phone hai aapka!! Jaldi chaliye”<br />
“Haan daul<strong>at</strong>raam-ji, a<strong>at</strong>a hoon” said a surprised and<br />
bewildered Haddi in a sleepy voice.<br />
Haddi got up and s<strong>at</strong> on his cot for a while thinking<br />
about the dream he had just had. He was exhilar<strong>at</strong>ed<br />
and a wee bit disappointed. Winning the Inter IIT sports<br />
championship was his dream. A dream which he had<br />
fulfilled today, in a dream.<br />
“Saala sapna aaye to aisa. Jai ho kingfisher bhagwan<br />
ki”. He thought<br />
He then put a worn out pair of slippers on his feet and<br />
started walking towards the hostel phone. It was seven<br />
O’clock in the morning. Haddi hadn’t woken up this early<br />
for ages and from the look on his face it appeared as if<br />
this was the first time he had w<strong>at</strong>ched a sunrise. He<br />
soon reached the quad and could now see a phone off<br />
the hook.<br />
Still yawning, Haddi somehow dragged himself to the<br />
phone and picked up the receiver.<br />
“Hello” he said in a sleepy voice.<br />
“Hi, is this Rohit??” Came a question from the other end.<br />
It was a girl’s voice which Haddi was quiet surprised to<br />
hear.
