The promise
"Untees, make it ten Kingfisher and three thunderbolt,
Axle is going to have 2 bottles and not three"
Haddi looked towards Untees and rolled his eyes as he
passed on Axle’s message. Axle was being his annoying
self yet again. After “forgetting” to bring his wallet
(Which was like a crime in IIT terms) he was being a
pain in deciding what he wanted to drink. After switching
from beer to whisky to vodka he was back to 3 bottles of
beer and had apparently changed that too. The beer
shop was particularly crowded today. A huge proportion
of the people whose name was on the doom board were
there. Those who were not present had already came
and bought their fill. The seven of them had walked
there straight after they were done at the doom board.
It had been an extremely shocking development. Prof
Roy had never given so many Fakkas in his career. A
substantial percentage of the class seemed to have
failed the course. Even decent scorers like Axle and
Mariyal who were in the range of a cool cool Dikka had
failed the course. A number of theories were circulated
while walking from the academic area to the IIT gate
about why Prof Roy had given so many fakkas. The
theories varied from domestic disturbance at Prof Roy’s
house (Coutesy: kaka) to mind control experiments by
the military (Courtesy: Haddi). The discussion was
mostly inconclusive and eventually people had decided
to let it go. It was almost impossible to guess the
accurate reason for the sudden spike in fakkas.
As soon all of them had reached IIT Gate, two girls
travelling in the opposite direction had passed them.
Both of them had given a nasty stare to Mariyal who
was trying really hard not to look at them. Mariyal had
only one problem in his life. He was unable to stay away
from girls. Good, bad, ugly he always needed a/few
girl/girls in his life. Looking at his habit’s, Untees had
