The Bufferpools feature in the DBA Cockpit provides statistics about the buffer pools. The first
panel (Figure 5-10) shows a report with general information for all of buffer pools. You can drill
down for more information about any buffer pool by clicking its name.
Space Management
The Space Management section was redesigned and developed for DB2 for z/OS and is
included in the NetWeaver release 7.02. This section provides information about the size of
tables, table spaces, and indexes. It includes key performance indicators (KPIs) that help you
determine the growth of these objects and the top largest or growing ones.
The DB2 database consists of several logical and physical database objects. Logical objects
are tables, indexes, views, and table spaces. In contrast, physical objects, such as table
space containers, can be database files, raw devices, or directories.
