The Bufferpools feature in the DBA Cockpit provides statistics about the buffer pools. The first<br />

panel (Figure 5-10) shows a report with general information for all of buffer pools. You can drill<br />

down for more information about any buffer pool by clicking its name.<br />

Space Management<br />

The Space Management section was redesigned and developed for DB2 for z/OS and is<br />

included in the NetWeaver release 7.02. This section provides information about the size of<br />

tables, table spaces, and indexes. It includes key performance indicators (KPIs) that help you<br />

determine the growth of these objects and the top largest or growing ones.<br />

The DB2 database consists of several logical and physical database objects. Logical objects<br />

are tables, indexes, views, and table spaces. In contrast, physical objects, such as table<br />

space containers, can be database files, raw devices, or directories.<br />
