Alternatively, the Central Calendar shows the actions and their result on all the databases of
the SAP systems. With this monitoring tool, you can quickly check the color-coded status of
each system to see whether actions were run successfully.
5.4 Operating system monitoring
Performs an incremental backup of table spaces, index spaces, and LOB table
spaces using the COPY utility.
Reorganizes a specific index.
Reorganizes a specific table space.
Reorganizes the indexes retrieved by the stored procedure DSNACCOR.
Reorganizes the table spaces retrieved by the stored procedure DSNACCOR.
Creates new statistics for the objects (index and table spaces) retrieved by the
stored procedure DSNACCOR.
Rebuilding of one SAP index Rebuilds a specific index of the current SAP system.
Recovery of one SAP index Recovers a specific index of the current SAP system.
Recovery of one SAP table space Recovers a specific table space of the current SAP system.
Update data for transaction DB2 Retrieves z/OS catalog information of the data sets used by DB2. Also calculates
the size and growth history of the objects to be shown in the DB2 transaction.
Update statistics for all SAP objects Creates new statistics for all table spaces and index of the current SAP system.
Update statistics for one SAP object Creates new statistics for a specific table space or index of the current SAP system.
Central Calendar log collector Retrieves log information to be shown in the Central Calendar.
Tip: With the Central Calendar, you can monitor the system that are you logged in to and
the remote systems, including non-ABAP systems.
Today many resources are shared or virtualized. Therefore, an SAP NetWeaver Application
Server (SAP NetWeaver AS) problem might result from various possibilities. To analyze these
problems, often only the combined information from different resource monitors leads to the
cause. That is, when the analysis is only focused on too little information, the analyzed result
might be misleading.
