Checking the DB2 installation parameters
The DBA Cockpit in release 7.02 or 7.30 and later offers a powerful tool to show and
automatically check the DB2 Installation Parameter settings. In the DBA Cockpit
(Figure 4-10), in the left navigation pane, you select Performance � Installation
Parameters to view all parameters for which recommendations exist and their assessment.
Exception for SAP Basis customers: If you are running on SAP Basis release 7.00,
7.01, 7.10, or 7.11, you do not benefit from the redesign. However, you can use the
DB2_KPI_CHECKED_SYSPARMS function module with se37 as a workaround. The
output of this function module contains all DB2 installation parameter values and the
evaluation with the SAP recommendations.
Adapting the SAPCL installation
Several SAPCL parameters can change during a release migration and require changes in
the SAPCL installation. To make the changes, in the left navigation pane of the DBA Cockpit,
select Configuration � Collector Settings (Figure 4-10). The right pane shows the relevant
input fields.
