Tip: To enable the capture of sysplex information in the OS System Monitor Panel, select
Enable OS07 data collection. Otherwise, the OS System Monitor panel does not show an
entry for the IBM System z.
To enable the OS system monitoring, click the Manually start/restart data collection button
on the toolbar for each SAP NetWeaver AS that should be visible in the Operating System
Monitoring panel (transaction st06).
Usage
You can access monitoring data by using two different panels: Operation System Monitor,
which is host-related, and Sysplex Monitor, which is System z sysplex related:
► Operation System Monitor (transaction st06)
This panel provides OS monitoring data of hosts that are part of an SAP system or part of
other registered hosts. Besides snapshot data, history data is also available. Furthermore,
it provides sysplex information. The data is retrieved through the Sysplex Monitor.
► Sysplex Monitor (transaction db2 Diagnostics Sysplex Monitor)
This panel provides sysplex and LPAR monitoring data. The monitoring data is received
from RMF, and no historical information is available.
Figure 5-13 on page 93 shows the LPAR information of the SAP database host. The
monitoring category “CPU Virtualization Host” represents central processor complex (CPC)
information, where the database host is located. The other information is related to the
database host.
