f. Leave all other DB2 system parameters with their default values. DB2 10 for z/OS is
optimized for SAP. The other default settings match SAP requirements upon immediate
use.
g. Find the DSNTIPD panel input recommended by SAP in 3.3.5 in the SAP DBA Guide:
DB2 for z/OS (V10).
h. For test, development, and sandbox instances, consider using the SAP
recommendations in 3.3.6 of the SAP DBA Guide: DB2 for z/OS (V10).
i. Optional: Consider using the hidden setting of ZPARM OFFLOAD=NO to disable archiving
during installation and SAP data load.
Important: After the installation, enable the parameter by setting ZPARM
OFFLOAD=YES.
SAP uses DB2 stored procedures and Workload Manager (WLM). Enable the WLM stored
procedure support as explained in DB2 10 for z/OS Installation and Migration Guide,
GC19-2974. See also 3.6 in the SAP DBA Guide: DB2 for z/OS (V10) and “Considerations
for Workload Manager and stored procedures” on page 181.
9. Configure the IRLM started procedure values:
REGION=0M
PC=YES (not used but required for compatibility)
MLMT=4G (ensure the size does not exceed real IRLM memory)
MAXCSA=0 (not used but required for compatibility)
DEADLOK=5,1
SCOPE=LOCAL (GLOBAL for Data Sharing)
a. Ensure that you configure the Real-time statistics and Stored procedures for
administration settings. DB2 activates these settings by default during installation.
b. Set up the distributed data facility (DDF) environment. Follow the procedure in 3.9 of
the SAP DBA Guide: DB2 for z/OS (V10).
c. Set up the WLM service policy for DDF as described in 3.2.2.6 of the Planning Guide
SAP on IBM DB2 for z/OS, version 2.50 - 2011-10-01.
d. Define the ABAP and Java schemas as a secondary authorization ID of the DB2 ABAP
and Java DB2 Connect user IDs:
Review Chapter 6, “Using secondary IDs for connection requests,” in the DB2 10 for
z/OS Administration Guide, SC19-2968.
Use a sample routine for user authorization exit DSNTIJEX.
The default sign-on exit routine must be replaced with the sample routine supplied
by IBM as explained in “Installation Step 6: Define User Authorization Exit Routines:
DSNTIJEX” in DB2 10 for z/OS Installation and Migration Guide, GC19-2974.
10.Perform the following post DB2 installation checks for SAP:
a. Ensure that two DFSMShsm copy pools are ready for the DB2 BACKUP SYSTEM utility.
b. Verify that you adapted your SMS class parameters and set them to the SAP
recommended values.
c. You enabled the DB2 stored procedures.
d. Review and adapt DB2 buffer pool parameters as recommended by SAP in 3.3.4 of the
SAP DBA Guide: DB2 for z/OS (V10).
e. Establish the DDF to DB2 Connect in DB2.
See Chapter 4 in the SAP DBA Guide: DB2 for z/OS (V10) for the necessary tasks.
