Tip: With the Central Calendar, you can monitor the system that are you logged in to and the remote systems, including non-ABAP systems. Today many resources are shared or virtualized. Therefore, an SAP NetWeaver Application Server (SAP NetWeaver AS) problem might result from various possibilities. To analyze these problems, often only the combined information from different resource monitors leads to the cause. SAP provides monitoring information, for example, about the hardware, LPARs, registered hosts, and networks. Some of this information is detailed, and some of it is only an overview. This section shows an overview of the monitoring information in these areas. 5.4.1 Operating system and sysplex monitoring SAP uses agents for the OS monitoring of each registered server. An SAP Application Sever is registered by default. Configuration Sysplex monitoring requires RMF Data Portal for z/OS to be available. You must also insert the configuration in the Sysplex Monitor configuration (transaction db2 � Configuration � OS Monitoring Settings). When you save the configuration, the IBM Resource Measurement Facility (RMF) connection is tested (see Figure 5-12). Figure 5-12 Sysplex Monitor Configuration Chapter 5.
