1.2.1 SAP NetWeaver
The SAP Business Suite with its underlying architecture supports the vision of “Everywhere (On
Device) - Everything (On Demand) - Everytime business service.” SAP Business Suite runs on
a server infrastructure (On Premise), which builds the basic layer of the SAP product strategy.
SAP NetWeaver is the integration and application platform of SAP, and it serves as the
technological base for SAP solutions and the SAP Business Suite. It facilitates the
development, execution, and maintenance of business applications from SAP and from
► Business Process Management
► Application Composition
► SOA Middleware
► Foundation Management and Optimization
To facilitate all of these areas, SAP NetWeaver includes the following comprehensive set of
components and tools:
SAP NetWeaver Portal
Unifies critical information and applications to provide role-based
views that span the enterprise, so that everyone can take full
advantage of information resources.
SAP NetWeaver Gateway
SAP software from any environment and through any device.
SAP NetWeaver Master Data Management
Ensures cross-system data consistency and helps to integrate
