Configuring a basic SAP installation For an initial configuration, log on as user ddic and client 000. We configured the following components in our environment: ► Transport Management System (Transaction STMS) Follow the instructions to create a Transport Management System ► SAP License Administration (Transaction SLICENSE) Apply a valid SAP license (maintenance certificate needed for update). ► DB2 Connect License Provide a valid DB2 Connect license, because the delivered license is only a temporary license that is valid for 90 days. See the SAP DBA Guide: DB2 for z/OS (V10) at: https://websmp106.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/ Warning message: If no DB2 Connect license is installed, a warning message (in the system log) is reported about the try-and-buy license. It also reports how many days are left before the license expires. After this period, the SAP system will stop working. Chapter 4.
