Verb Henebir, tranflated to caufe them to fajs
thro* the Fire, ftgnifies alfo to dedicate, and denotes
the confecrating the Firft-born unto God,
Exod. xiii. 12. So the Words imply, that the
Jews inftead of dedicating their Firft-born to God,,
as the Law required, offered them up a Sacrifice
to the Devil that was worfhipped in their Idols.
