that Captivity. Clemens Alexandrinus tells us,
fome thought him contemporary with Pythagoras,
and that they had converfed together in Babylon,
Strom, lib. i. n. 15. This Opinion he rejecJs as
inconfiftent with the Age of Pythagoras, whom he
fuppofes to have flourished about the 6 2d Olym-
piad, ibid. n. 21. which was near 60 Tears after
Ezckiel was carried into Babylon. The late learn-
