as Mothers of<br />

their People, and the Inha-<br />

bitants as their Children :<br />

So the Daughters of Syria fignify the Inhabitants<br />

of that Country, Chap. xvi. 57. Thus Samaria<br />

and Jerufalem are defcribed in this Chapter as Sifters,<br />

the Offspring of the fame Land or Country.<br />
