Chapter Ibid. aAnd the Spirit lift me up, and brought me

CVNJ Hon in the Vifions of God, (which is like-wife ufed
again at the End of the Recital of this Prophecy,
Chapter xi. 24. and Chapter xl. 2.) may import

that all this Reprefentation was performed only in
: that is, by a lively Reprefentation to the
Mind, as if the Prophet had been perfonally prefent
at Jerufalem. In the fame manner ElifJja was
prefent with Gehazi when he took Naamarfs Pre-
sent, 2 KJngsv.26. and heard the Words that
were fpoken in the King of Syria's Bedchamber:
Ibid. Chap. vi. 12. and St. Taut, tho' he was ab-
fent in *Body yet was prefent in Spirit at the
Church of the Coloffians, beholding their Order,
£§e. Colof ii. 5. But the Words may alfo fignify
a local Tranflation of the Prophet from Chaidea to
Jerufalem; Compare Chapter iii. 14. xl. 1.
This latter Interpretation is confirmed by the Spirits
lifting him up between Heaven and Earthy
and bringing him to jerufalem, and afterward car*
vying him back into Chaidea, Chap. xi. 24.

that goes into the inner Court, called the
Court of the Triefis, where the Altar of Burnt-
^ offerings flood : See Ver. 5. The Prophet flood at
the outfide of this Door, and view'd the Image
here mentioned, placed in fome outward Verge
of the Temple : which yet was all accounted Holy
Ground, and called in Scripture the Mount of
the Lord, or the Holy Mountain. See Chap. \iu
