expression (2.71 ± 1.17) than non-infected mice (1.33 ± 1.27; 1.02 ± 0.93) in the<br />

lung.<br />

Conclusion: In conclusion, our data suggest that the control <strong>of</strong> the parasite in<br />

the lung <strong>of</strong> infected mice is at least in part dependent <strong>of</strong> HO-1 through IDO<br />

induction, mainly in C57BL/6 mice. In the small intestine elevated HO-1<br />

expression contributes to the control <strong>of</strong> T. gondii replication, but in an IDO<br />

independent manner.<br />
