higher production of TNF-, IL-10 and IL-4. In the study the fractions below 10
and 10-50 kDa did not induce in vitro production of IFN-g and IL-4. The fraction
between 50-100 kDa stimulated splenocytes to produce TNF- and the fraction
above 100 kDa mainly stimulated the production of IL-10.
Conclusion: It is probable that the virulent strain of this microorganism induces
the production of IL-4 as an immune escape mechanism.
Keywords: Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis, caseous lymphadenitis,
somatic antigen fractions.
