Equipment: Elaith has access to all standard adventuring<br />
gear, though he seldom carries much un-<br />
less he’s planning to leave the City <strong>of</strong> Splendors.<br />
Magical Items: Bracers <strong>of</strong> defense AC 2, cloak <strong>of</strong> elvenkind,<br />
dagger <strong>of</strong> homing +2, ring <strong>of</strong> the ram, and sev-<br />
eral potions <strong>of</strong> extra-healing.<br />
Rumors also say that Elaith has caches <strong>of</strong> vast<br />
sums <strong>of</strong> money and additional magical weapons,<br />
healing potions, and so on all over Waterdeep.<br />
Combat/Tactics: Elaith prefers melee combat to<br />
magical but will <strong>of</strong>ten s<strong>of</strong>ten up his foes with a dramatic<br />
fireball or lightning bolt and then close to the<br />
up-close-and-personal contest <strong>of</strong> blades. Elaith’s<br />
foes are lucky in a way. They get to see firsthand a<br />
display <strong>of</strong> Elaith’s dazzlingly graceful swordwork.<br />
More than once has Elaith taken a certain black<br />
glee in toying with an opponent in the midst <strong>of</strong> a<br />
tavern brawl, much to the entertainment <strong>of</strong> those<br />
not involved.<br />
Allies/Companions: Elaith tends to be hard on<br />
his allies; in other words, few live to tell the tale <strong>of</strong><br />
their travels. Tavern stories tell <strong>of</strong> several adventuring<br />
bands that Elaith has organized to go <strong>of</strong>f after<br />
some treasure or other. Invariably, Elaith is the only<br />
member to ever return from these expeditions.<br />
Two adventurers who have managed to survive repeated<br />
encounters with Elaith are the Harpers<br />
Danilo Thann and Arilyn Moonblade.<br />
Foes/Enemies: While his sinister reputation precedes<br />
him these days, Elaith has few foes that live<br />
long enough to be identified as such. After his recent<br />
involvement in one <strong>of</strong> their plots, the Knights <strong>of</strong> the<br />
Shield can be considered an enemy.<br />
Appearance: This astonishingly handsome moon<br />
elf has silver hair, amber eyes, a slender, smoothly<br />
muscled form, and a precise, melodious voice.<br />
While maintaining an indifferent air about him,<br />
this dangerous elf misses nothing that goes on<br />
around him. He earned his nickname as much from<br />
his sinuous grace in battle as from his acerbic, black<br />
humor.
