Maintenance Considerations
■
■
Rain collectors and cisterns must be
drained between storm events if they
are to be used to detain stormwater.
Occasional draining and cleaning may
also be necessary to remove debris, such
as leaves, that may fall into the vessel.
Draining and cleaning will also prevent
stagnation and buildup of algae.
Rain collectors should be sealed during
warm weather to avoid mosquito
breeding.
