REGIONAL PROJECT STARS MONUMENT

The largest of the Project Stars monuments is intended to be used along
the sides of freeways and integrated into bridges.
The regional monuments are 77 feet tall and constructed of a base with
cast stone and brick veneers. A three-dimensional star is held aloft by
four metal columns.

Iconography should be applied in a context-sensitive manner throughout the San
Jacinto Texas Historic District to provide clear wayfi nding and branding. Specifi cally,
these monuments should be installed at Project Stars sites. Iconic monumentation, art
and signage may be used to establish focal points along corridors and at signifi cant
thresholds to reinforce the overall importance and legacy of San Jacinto. The Texas Star is
the primary icon and can be incorporated into many of the Design Elements presented
in this chapter. A fi ve-pointed star should be used in two-dimensional applications, and
a nine-pointed star should be used in three-dimensional applications.

CITY PROJECT STARS MONUMENT
City monuments are smaller than regional monuments so that they can
be integrated into the scale of a city street.
The monuments are constructed of the same materials as the regional
monument, but only rise to a height of 33 feet.
