Local Roads are less dense and less urban than
Main Streets, though they may include areas
surrounding central commercial districts such
as residential streets, business parks, or area
with a mix of uses including light industrial.
They are characterized by broader parkways,
larger setbacks from the street, and more
generous areas for landscaping.
The Local Road Corridor Profi le below presents
a typical cross-section for a local residential
road, with a parkway bioswale, permeable
paving parking lanes, bicycle lanes, and
pedestrian scale lighting.
