Poblacions en perfil. - Ombrejat de la costa, mar amb ones en Z, amb 1 embarcació i 2 monstres marins. - Cartel·les decoratives, amb el títol i amb l’escala. 37 x 47 cm Historial del mapa Publicat per primer cop dins: Gerardi Mercatoris atlas sive Cosmographicae meditationes de fabrica mundi et fabricati figura. Denuò auctus, editio quarta. Excusum sub Cane Vigilante. Sumptibus & typis aeneis Iudoci Hondij, Amsterodami, 1611. En aquesta edició, Hondius afegeix tres mapes nous als de Mercator: Galecia, Cataloniae principatus i Limburg. El mapa de Catalunya continua apareixent en les diverses edicions de l’atles: en 4 versions de l’Editio quarta, entre 1611 i 1619; en una de l’Editio quinta, el 1623; en dues de l’Editio decima, el 1628 i el 1629. Koeman cita que a l’exemplar de la Biblioteca de la Universitat de Leiden (sego- Taula-guia Fonts COL[3]. - IMCOS[4]. - K.II,281ss. - K(Mercator) índex[6250:1A]. na edició, de 1607, en llatí), entre les pàg. 116 i 119, hi ha un mapa de Catalunya [4-8], amb el verso en blanc, que no consta al sumari (K.II,307[Me 16]). Aquesta referència, però, desapareix en la segona edició d’Atlantes Neerlandici. Entre 1633 i 1641, trobem el mapa a diverses edicions de: Appendix: Gerardi Mercatoris et I. Hondii atlas ou Representation du monde universel et des parties d’icelui... Edition nouvelle augmenté d’un appendice... A Amsterdam chez Henry Hondius demeurant sur le Dam, a l’enseigne du Chien vigilant, 1633.
