RÂ, LA RÉPARATRICE MAMADOU KOTIKI CISSE PORTRAIT PORTRAIT Dans une rue très mouvementée de Bamako, une jeune fille, âgée d’environ 25 ans, fiancée, mère d’un enfant, répare des groupes électrogènes. Elle exerce un « métier d’homme » et, en compagnie de ses collègues garçons, Ra travaille au rythme des saisons, encadre aussi des jeunes garçons de 12 à 15 ans. Ra accorde une grande importance aux rapports sociaux, participe à des tontines organisées par les jeunes filles du quartier. Les groupes électrogènes condamnés sont récupérés par le jeune Kaba qui les recycle pour en faire des vaisselles. She does « a job of man » and, in the company of her colleagues boys, Ra works in the rythm of seasons and she supervises also young boys of 12 and 15 years old. Ra gives a huge importance to social relationships, and participates to the friendly clubs organized by young girls of district. She prepares her trousseau of marriage. Ineparable generating units are taken by young Kaba who transforms them into crockeries. In Ra’s marriage day, we will see presents given by her girl friend Kadi, coming from the transformation of pieces of generating units sold by young Kaba. Non pas un arbre mythique mais un arbre comme il pourrait en exister partout. Sur ma route, j'ai rencontré des hommes et des femmes qui m'ont fait part de leur perception de cette quête, me livrant ainsi par des voies détournées une partie de leur vision du monde et de l'existence. Pour certains, mon arbre était un signe des génies, de l'invisible, ou un appel à la Lumière. Pour d'autres, il était le symbole d'une histoire, d'une culture ou de la fin d'une époque. Pour d'autres encore, il était un arbre que l'on ne voit que lorsque l'on est perdu… Ce film documentaire, Racines lointaines, est une traversée poétique à la recherche d'un ailleurs et d'autres manières de penser.
