Milton est très connu sous le nom de Rockamilly en Ouganda, où il est
le seul sosie d’Elvis Presley. A 23 ans, Rockamilly est dentiste le jour
et Elvis la nuit, dans un bar à karaoké de Kampala. Ce film nous fait
découvrir son univers de fan d’Elvis Presley, capable de s’occuper à
la fois de sa famille et des fans, jonglant avec sa double vie.
Milton, popularly known as Rockamilly is Uganda's only Elvis Presley impersonator.
At age 23, Rockamilly works as a dentist by day and as Elvis by night at
a local karaoke bar in the city of Kampala. This film captures his world as an
Elvis Presley fan who is able to entertain both family and fans and juggles his
double life.

Après avoir vécu de nombreuses années à Addis Abeba, Gezagn est
rentré dans son pays natal pour devenir le 20ème poqalla du clan Kirditta.
Tous les membres du clan se préparent à célébrer la fin du deuil
de son père Woldedawit. La saison des pluies est imminente, et tout
le monde s’affaire à préparer les champs. Dans le même temps, Ayano,
un modeste paysan peine à trouver un onéreux jeune taureau, sans lequel
il ne peut prendre part à la cérémonie. L’anxiété grandit quand le
Ganshallo, l’homme engagé un an auparavant par la famille du défunt
pour battre le tambour annonçant l’ouverture et la fin du deuil, s’enfuit
dans les basses terres.

After having lived for many years in Addis Ababa Gezagn has now returned to
his homeland to become the 20th poqalla Kala. All the members of his clan are
getting ready to celebrate the close of the mourning period for his father Woldedawit.
The rainy season is imminent, and everybody worries about sowing on
time. In spite of this, Ayano, a modest peasant strives to find a costly young
bull, without which he will not be able to take part in the ceremony. Anxiety
builds up when “the ganshalo”, the man who was hired a year ago by the deceased’s
family to play the drum for opening and closing of the mourning period,
flees to the lowlands.
