Per non parlare poi di tutti i cartoni animati che hanno
usato le sue musiche come colonna sonora!
Per anni, l’ho amato senza mai domandarmi chi fosse
l’autore di quelle musiche. È stato un amore inconsapevole,
fino al giorno in cui la televisione mandò una pubblicità
(non ricordo più di cosa) con una musica travolgente:
era il celeberrimo galop finale della sinfonia del
Guillaume Tell. Fu allora che espressi il desiderio di avere
per il mio compleanno il disco con quella musica…
Arturo Toscanini che dirigeva 6 ouvertures di Rossini, fu
il mio primo 33 giri; quello che mi introdusse nel magico
mondo della musica classica.

For years, I loved him without ever asking who was the
author of these melodies. It was an unaware love, until the
day I heard a rousing music in a TV commercial – I
couldn’t remember which one - and it was the famous
galop in the final symphony of Guillaume Tell. It was then
that I expressed the desire to have the original album for
my birthday.
Arturo Toscanini, who conducted 6 overtures written by
Rossini, was my first LP record: the one that introduced
me to the magical world of classical music.
