SUMMARY<br />
Ischnura pumilio is a pioneer species that is able to colonize temporary habitats, but is nevertheless fairly rare <strong>in</strong> Belgium.<br />
Small numbers of this species were found <strong>in</strong> the <strong>Wellemeersen</strong> <strong>in</strong> 1999 and <strong>in</strong> the successive years 2001–2002 and 2004 –<br />
2005. S<strong>in</strong>ce no records of reproduction are available they can be consi<strong>de</strong>red as dwell<strong>in</strong>g specimen. They probably fully<br />
benefited the new temporal man-ma<strong>de</strong> habitats.<br />
