Resumo
O infográfico, ou gráfico informativo, deve ser compreendido como um
gênero textual composto pelas linguagens verbal e não-verbal a fim de
passar uma informação/conteúdo de forma sucinta e atraente. Antes
encontrado com maior frequência nos domínios discursivos jornalístico
e científico, como nas Revistas Superinteressante, Galileu Galilei e Época,
por exemplo, modernamente, é bastante frequente a presença de gráficos
informativos em manuais didáticos, a citar o Guia do Estudante. Esse
artigo científico é fruto da disciplina de sintaxe, ministrada no Programa
de Pós-Graduação em Letras da UFPE, e tem por finalidade verificar como
os infográficos estão multimodalmente construídos à luz da Gramática do
Design Visual proposta por Kress e van Leewen (1996). Nosso corpus foi
coletado do Guia de Atualidades do primeiro semestre de 2011.

Abstract
The infographic, or informative graphic, must be understood as a text
genre composed by verbal and nonverbal languages, in order to pass an
information / content or in an attractive or brief way. Infographics were
priorly most found among the areas of journalism and scientific discourse,
as in Superinteressante, Galileu Galilei and Época magazines, for instance;
but actually, it is quite frequently the presence of informative graphics in
textbooks, like Guia do Estudante. This scientific paper is the result of the
discipline of syntax, taught in the Graduate Program in Linguistics at UFPE,
and aims to verify how the multimodality infographics are constructed
according to the Grammar of Visual Desing, proposed by Kress and van
Leeuwen (1996). Our corpus was collected from Guia de Atualidades, taken
from the first half of 2011.
