Flöhatalradweg
Durch eines der schönsten Täler des Erzgebirges führt der Flöhatalradweg
vom Erzgebirgskamm in Deutschgeorgenthal bis zur Mündung der Flöha
in die Zschopau. Auf 70 abwechslungsreichen Kilometern gehen Radfahrende
auf Entdeckungstour zwischen Mühlenromantik und erzgebirgischer
Holzkunst. Der Flöhatalradweg verläuft bis Heidersdorf gleichzeitig
auf der Fernradroute Sächsische Mittelgebirge. Für den Einstieg fährt man
ab Chemnitz auf der Mittellandroute D4 östlich bis nach Flöha.
Regional cycle routes
Chemnitztal Cycleway The newly-redeveloped Chemnitztal Cycleway opens up the
Chemnitz Valley as far as Wechselburg and links the district of Mittweida with
the Sächsische Städteroute, with a connection to the Mittellandroute D4. To the
south, the Chemnitztal Cycleway runs via the City Park to Einsiedel, where there
is the option to connect to the Bayreuth-Zittau Saxon-Bavarian Cycle Route. The
entire route is virtually level and is ideally suited to enabling families with children
to explore the city and its immediate surroundings. There are rest points in the
city centre as well as on the stretch through the City Park. Cycle route along the
Silver Road The 140 kilometre-long Silver Road connects the tourist attractions
and sights associated with the centuries-old mining and smelting industries of the
region. Starting in Zwickau, the route passes through the mountain settlements
of Schneeberg, Annaberg-Buchholz and Ehrenfriedersdorf to Freiberg and then
continues on to the state capital of Saxony, Dresden. The Silver Road is the ideal
way to get to know the Erzgebirge and its handicrafts. The route is identified by
a silver „S” and is in part identical to the German Avenue Road. The best way
to join the route from Chemnitz is via the long-distance Mittellandroute D4. This
crosses the cycleway along the Silver Road to the east of Chemnitz at Freiberg.
Würschnitztal Cycleway A stylised „W” points cyclists on their way in the Würschnitz
Valley. The 18 kilometre-long Würschnitztal Cycleway starts at Klaffenbach
Castle in the south of Chemnitz, and ends at Neuwürschnitz Forest Pool. The wellsignposted
cycleway is designed to be family-friendly, with lots to see and plenty
of places to take a break. In addition to Klaffenbach Castle, the Alte Ziegelei (Old
Brickworks) Niederwürschnitz leisure park is also worth a visit. Flöhatal Cycleway
The Flöhatal Cycleway runs through one of the most beautiful valleys in the Ore
Mountains, from Erzgebirgskamm in the Deutschgeorgenthal Valley to the confluence
of the Flöha and Zschopau rivers. 70 varied kilometres of riding await cyclists,
with romantic mill scenes and Ore Mountains woodcrafts to be enjoyed along the
way. The Flöhatal Cycleway runs to Heidersdorf following the same course as the
Sächsische Mittelgebirge (Saxon Central Mountains) long-distance cycle route. To
reach it from Chemnitz, cyclists can take the Midland Route D4 east to Flöha.
